Gauges include a high temperature light.
Front A-arms are taken directly from the race proven YFZ450.
This might be the sexiest looking rear end of a quad we've ever seen.
Check out the oval silencer turned sideways and the one piece plastic tail light cowling.
Another look at the rear tail light and assembly.
Another look at the two-into-one pipe and oval shape silencer.
Here is the Raptor in the new White/Silver color scheme.
You'll have to wait for an aftermarket company to design, fabricate and mass produce a bolt on pipe for your new Raptor... WRONG!
The GYTR team works hand in hand with Yamaha to make sure you're ready to go right from the dealer.
GYTR heal guards and nerf bars are also already available for the new Raptor.
The new Raptor 700 has a lower center of gravity than the older Raptor 660.
It is also wider. Yamaha claims it offers excellent flat cornering and performs extremely well in all types of terrain.
This cut away shot shows the high tech engine.
This powerplant defines modern day four strole technolgy.
The air filter design is borrowed from the fool proof YFZ system.
Here's a cut away of the rear silencer.
What's that in the gas tank? Introducing YFI "Yamaha Fuel Injection"! That's right the new Raptor is fuel injected. A first in the currently available sport ATV segment.
The Yamaha Raptor uses an all-aluminum cylinder with ceramic coposite coating.
Yamaha sees big potential in the sport performance ATV market place.
The all new Raptor is bulging at the seems with new and innovative modern day technology.
One of Yamaha's proudest achievements on the new Raptor is its fuel injection system (YFI).
Seven sensors constantly monitor the situation in order to provide the engine's optimum performance.
Bill Ballance, Keith Little and Kory Ellis all agreed that the fuel injection system works excellent.
The 2006 Raptor frame is a whopping seven pounds lighter than the old Raptor.
The new Raptor 700 will be available in July of 2005, but expect to get on a list.
We predict this quad will be extremely popular.
The next few pages describe the technology behind the new Raptor and compare it to the one of old....

With this Yamaha claims the Raptor is the smoothing and less fatiguing ATV you can buy.
The duel piston front brakes and A-arms (complete with their upper square tube aluminum members) are straight from the YFZ.
The auto decompression cam.
The Raptor 700's new five speed transmission with reverse is completly new
with a very much improved gear ratio from the Raptor of old.
The Raptor 700's cylinder head is 21% lighter than the Raptor 660R.
The Raptor 700's cylinder is 24% lighter than the Raptor 660R. At 102mm, it's 2mm bigger than the 660R.
This is Yamaha's Cam Adjust drive chain adjuster.
The new eccentric shaft-type design makes for quick and easy chain adjustments.
Here the light weight forged alumimun piston is visible.
The flywheel.
Here is the front steel portion of the all-new Aluminum/Steel hybrid chassis.
Front shocks offer a 5mm larger piston than the Raptor 660. The Kayaba shocks offer five-way adjustable preload with dual rate springs. They provide 9.1” of travel.
Roller bearing rocker arms reduce friction by 50%.
Here's the rear half of the all-new Aluminum/Steel hybrid frame.
No longer does the dirt bike industry hog all the new innovative design.
The piggy back remote reservoir rear shockfeatures a 10mm longer stroke than the Raptor 660.
The shock offers 10.1” of travel, but still lets the quad sit almost two inches lower than the Raptor of old.
Here's a closer look at the roller bearing rocker arms.
The starter clutch
The one piece cast aluminum swingarm comes complete with the same duel row axle bearing found on the YFZ.
The chain adjustment couldn't be any easier thanks to its eccentric hub system.
Here's a closer look at the fool proof 250R type chain adjustment system.
The all new throttle body system works hand in hand with Yamaha's YFI system to provide what Yamaha refers to as "the smoothest feel available.
The five speed wide ratio transmission has been revised from the Raptor of old. Reverse is also re-geared for easier operation.
Current Raptor owners will love the fact that the Raptor 700 comes with a new direct-type ratchet shifter.
