Dr.D's Raptor Reverse Lever
When Dusty Trails Off Road told us about a great new product for the Raptor that would make the whole reverse gear engaging operation a lot easier, we were very interested, and even more interested when they wanted us to review one. After all, from what we've heard, it sounds like a very logical product and definitely one that we're sure would be of interest to many Raptor owners. It's called the "Dr.D Reverse Lever". Many of you will remember former Team Yamaha motocross rider Doug Dubach, who later started working on the testing side of the YZ400 along with Yamaha. Well, he now owns and operates Dubach Racing Development, the maker of the Dr.D Reverse Lever, and many other dirtbike and ATV parts.
The Dr.D Reverse Lever was delivered to us in a timely manner and packaged well. After opening it, we were surprised to see the quality of parts used. From the pictures we've seen, the actual red lever looked to be of cheap plastic, but were pleased to see that it was actually red-anodized aluminum. The rest of the reverse lever assembly, along with the cable, looked high-quality, and it even came with a black "trim" piece to cover up the empty hole left in your fender after removal of the OEM unit.
When ready for installation, we found the instructions to be very clear and didn’t leave anything out. In fact, they were almost too involved. They said to remove the front plastics in order to “fish” the cable down behind the radiator. We found this step very unnecessary, and the entire install only takes 10-15 minutes with basic tools. The lever mount itself replaces the OEM brake mount, and utilizes the existing bolts. When done with the installation, we couldn’t wait to try it out. The first time we pulled the lever back it was a little awkward after being used to turning a knob, but after a few pulls it felt very natural. All you have to do is pull the lever in with your thumb and shift into reverse. The only negative thing we noticed is even when properly mounted on the handlebars, the lever is still a little further away from your thumb than you would expect. We didn’t have a problem, but if you have small hands you might have to remove your hand off of the handlebar grip to pull the reverse lever.
All in all, we highly recommend this product to any Raptor owner looking for easier reverse gear engaging. We feel the price is a wee-bit on the expensive side at $59.99, but in a way it's well worth it. You can purchase the Dr.D Reverse Lever right from Dusty Trails Off Road. We wish we had something like this from the begining, and trust us, once you use the Dr.D Reverse Lever, you will not want to go back to the stock design. It’s really a night and day difference!

Bij de Raptor en de z zit de beveiliging op het spatbord en dan kan je met je voet onder de eerste versnelling naar zijn achteruit schakelen met dit hendeltje vervang je dus enkel de beveiliging die normaal op je voorspatbord zit

Bij de Barossa staat de reverse pook op het stuur , ik vindt dit wel gemakkelijk maar niet mooi.
Zou deze pook ergens anders te plaatsen zijn ?

Bij mijn E-ton zit een knop op het stuur, ik kan hem elektrisch regelen, dat kost veel stroom. Het is wel makkelijk.

Bij mijne kawa 450 zit den achteruit ook opt stuur echt handig!
